Kate Daniels is a tough act to follow and it must be difficult as an author (authors) to come up with something just as good when you've come up with something just that good. But this book was really entertaining and very different. Of course, we had the vampire and the alpha werewolf, but the twist of them all coming from different parts of the universe added something to this story which I haven't come across before. Having read a lot of samey urban fantasy, this felt like something new and fresh. It has some very cool ideas, likeable characters, and has a science fiction-style background beneath the urban fantasy facade. I'll definitely read the next one. ...more

Fun story

I liked this one. The world is interesting and while you can tell it is connected to another series, there is enough details that you aren't lost. I liked the characters, especially Dina and the inn.
