WOW! Just wow! I'm still amazed at this great master's use of language and vocabulary as he weaves this tale, not of the biblical Absalom but certainly of Faulkner's literary characterization of someone fit to don that name. I should have been better prepared, should have re-read about Absalom, and most certainly should have noticed that !

Probably the closest contender to Great American Novel after Moby-Dick and Great Gatsby. My goodness, what a book.
