The girl who originally recommended the Persepolis books to me told me that the second one wasn't as good as the first (which kept me from being motivated to read the second, but when I found out the new Persepolis movie covers both books, well . . . What a great follow up to the first volume. It brought up so many interesting conversations and questions. I identified with Marji, obviously not from our childhoods but because I’m awful at keeping my mouth shut too. Sometimes you just can’t.
I recommend this book, and it's predecessor, to everyone. I loved it. Satrapi tells her story with honesty and humor. Gave me all the feels.

I lasted 30 pages. I have low patience for bratty teenagers, much less those who see microagressions everywhere yet judge everyone at the same time.
It really is a fascinating view of different cultures. And Marjane is definitely a Mighty Girl.
