wow! this book is a long, comprehensive, exhausting, totally absorbing and educational read--it is a wonderful book. I read reviews that compared it to sitting in on a class with Jared Diamond, and I can believe it. I learned so much reading this book, although I had to take it in chunks at a time, not only so I could fully absorb all the information I was reading, but also because some of the facts, stories, and logical inferences were so depressing I just felt overwhelmed. if you have the same
