50/50 review. I related to the portrayal of anxiety and some aspects of the OCD and liked that those were the focus. So many other mental illnesses are discussed in books, but anxiety doesn't seem to come up as often which is a shame when it's so incredibly common. It was also a really nuanced portrayal since in some ways it makes Aza really selfish. Excellent portrayal of mental health issues and anxiety as experienced by adolescents. The author nailed it here.
The reason I picked up this book was that a review that I’d read made the “missing person” mystery seem interesting. Turns out, the book wasn’t about the mystery and the mysterious situation was wrapped up in a trite, anti-climactic fashion.
