I loved this little book! While not the stellar literature that often earns my 4s, this story was engaging, fresh, and hard to put down. I loved Addie’s voice. Though some are criticizing the book for its lack of depth and conflict, I found the way Addie mixes a positive memory with a negative memory similar to how we reflect on our lives. I picked this one for the 2015 Popsugar reading challenge to fulfill the category of a book your mom recommended or loved - this one is a story she rated as a 5-start read. I liked the book and felt it was perfectly narrated by Linda Lavin, but if I had picked it up in print, I'm not so sure I would have finished it. I liked that there were hardships dealt with, but due to Addie's perspective, it wasn't grieved upon and likely to throw her off course. I also liked that she didn't have firm goals

The audiobook of this book was perfection. I felt like I was sitting down with someone's actual grandma while she told me her life story. And the accent was spot on. Simply lovely.
I'm not usually into this sort of personal-history-as-a-novel book. Maybe I should be. I just found it to be such a calming, lovely little joy of a story. I don't know how to talk about it. I adored this book. I am one of the few that has never read “Red Tent”, so I look forward to reading more by this author.
