Good read but very, very creepy and extremely weird.

A fast-paced psychological thriller by an Argentine author previously unknown to me. I hope more of her novels get translated and recorded as audiobooks, because I was definitely impressed with this small taste of her talent.

I listened to the audio version of this and since this is much more about atmosphere than plot, I think that might be the right way to go. Eerie, creepy, unsettling, this freaked me out and from what I've read could also function as an allegory for workers and pesticide issues they face in Latin American countries. I agree with what a couple of others have said that the original title, Rescue Distance, should have been retained when it was translated, as it's a much more fitting moniker. There m ...more
