You know when you are reading a book that is good… real good even, but just not a 5 star book? You’re not even sure why, or what exactly is missing. Then, you read a book that is so obviously 5 stars. It has “it”, whatever the others were missing, the book has it. That is exactly how I felt about this book. I knew it was great when I started it, and it never stopped being great.

A good story that starts out with a mystery. Grace is named as the only inheritor of the estate of Eva D'Orsey. That's great news, but Grace has no idea who Eva is. Over the next pages we learn Eva's backstory and how her life interacts with Grace's. It's a good premise, and some of the details of the writing are great. The description of perfumes, the comparison of London to Paris, the scenes in New York all come to life.
