Fantastic, mind bending, (sorta) science fiction book that I finished in two sittings. Jason Dessen has a quiet life in Chicago with his wife and teenage son until he is kidnapped at gunpoint by a masked man. Jason is brought to an abandoned building, injected with some drugs and knocked unconscious. I was about halfway through this book when I woke up this morning to no power or internet so I got comfy and started reading. Even when the power came back on, I could not stop reading until I found out how this book ends!

This was the best book I have read in a while. I didn't want to put it down. Recently I read a short story by Jorge Luis Borges (The Garden of Forking Paths) that kind of reminds me of this, as well. Weird how you can stumble on the same ideas from completely different sources within a short time of each other. ...more

Intense! Mind-bending and high action, but good. I am relieved to be done reading it because it was exhausting and stressful, but it makes you appreciate your own life.
