I had never read book nor seen the movie and decided it was time to give it a try. Honestly, I was primed to dismiss it simply because it had been made into a movie, but I found it very affecting. I'm glad I read it and I hope some of it stays with me in a meaningful way. ...more

Courageous story. Not in the sense of "He fought a good fight" but that he had such a wonderful calmness about what lay ahead of him and how he was going to deal with it. I remember being 8 and learning that someday I would die and freaking out. The thought has always freaked me out. I found Morrie's outlook laid back and refreshing.
