I feel like I read it so long ago. I will still stand by my 5 star rating but I did forget how the character building and the world building tended to drag a bit. Not that long since the book is only 176 pages.

I got so far behind on the books in this series and since it's been about 8 years I thought it would be good to refresh my memory of this series. I still love the concept of the doors that appear and lead the kids into worlds made of candy, vampires or even bones that will da

Ok story of kids that are trying to coop after coming back from another world through doors. Going to a boarding school with other kids that all stepped through a door taking them to different places. All the kids just wanna go back there.
While at this school crazy deaths are happening as the kids try not to panic and hoping the school stays open.

Interesting story. I enjoyed.

The idea of a home for the children who had gone on otherworldly adventures was interesting. I just wish there would have been more detail about these worlds and the adventures. I also felt the murders were not handled very well.

This was better than I thought it would be but I didn’t love it either. It read like a dark fairytale with creepy children and a mystery. I have tried this author’s Daye series but 2 books into that, I still couldn’t get into it. I did enjoy her books as Mira Grant though. I think I just might not be that into novels with fae elements. I might try the next book since I did like this more than the Daye books.

I liked this, But it was frustrating to me a bit with the weirdness of the way the story was written. Other than that it was entertainingly strange, still read it and continued with next two....books.
