I don't know that I've ever read a book that felt so much like a graphic novel, from the very first image of Nancy arriving at the school to the lovely conclusion. The descriptive language adds lots of heft to a very slim book, but every word is deliberate and works toward the whole. I wished that the story stayed with Nancy the whole time, so I didn't love that it started to veer toward Jack and Jill toward the end, but the ending was so satisfying.
