What Members Thought
I enjoyed this book but I didn't feel it made a whole lot of sense, and I almost wondered why I'd spent so much time on it. The story it tells is interesting but doesn't seem to match what I know about the story of The Wizard of Oz or of human behavior in general. (From what I can tell, the musical Wicked is only tangentially related to this plot, though I haven't seen it.) I love the idea of modern retakes on classic stories, but I wonder what Gregory Maguire's other books are like.

I thought this book was really interesting. It certainly makes you think of the Wizard of Oz in a completely different way. I have to give it a thumbs up, and I would love to see the musical someday.
