What Members Thought
It was well-written, powerful, and depressing as hell. That's pretty much Steinbeck in a nutshell, isn't it? I liked it a lot better than The Red Pony, but not as much as Grapes of Wrath. Heh. I appear to be reading one Steinbeck book every 10-15 years. I guess I’ll check out East of Eden in 2033. I bet it’s well-written, powerful, and depressing as hell.

I read this book weeks ago, but never reviewed it, which is shocking as Of Mice and Men has certainly earned its place as one of my favorites. Once again John Steinbeck has proved his amazing talent and imagination. One of the best books I have read so far in this year.
Hated this book and hated the ending! However, since reading it, I find that I can't stop thinking about it and the characters. I think that was quite possibly what the author intended and therefore I must say, everyone should read this book.
