I really would like to give it 3 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed hearing Vivian's story and learning about the orphan trains and a part of American history I knew nothing about. I had the opportunity to see Kristina Baker Kline at a local library event discussing the book and the history of orphan trains. I thought it was fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time. I enjoyed learning about something I'd not been aware of in our country's history. The book was solidly written I felt, she did a good job of intertwining the parallel narratives. It's a quick and easy read and very worth the time.
