I finally finished Freedman's book about World War I. I must admit that I thought it was very well written. I think it does well at catering to the audience that it was intended for. Kids will easily be able to follow the course of the war and the changes it wrought in its wake. Children studying The Great War will be able to appreciate the sacrifices of the World and the devastation.

Though, to be honest, I didn't read every word in the last couple of chapters, I did enjoy this book and what it taught about World War I. I think this war is a bit confusing for students, and anyone interested in history or warfare will gain much from reading this book. This book has been nominated for the 2012 Beehive award in nonfiction.
