Alice has been on the go her whole life. But when her fairy tale writing grandmother dies, her mother thinks they can settle in one spot. This was a quick, absorbing read for me. The first two-thirds was better than the last third, which went too fast without enough explanation, but it still kept me reading and I didn't want to put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the sequel! If you like fractured fairy tales or creepy stories, definitely give this one a try! ...more

Didn't love this book. It was weird and a little trippy and after all was said and done, I'm not exactly sure I even understand what happened. There were way too many F bombs for my taste and I didn't even really care for the main character. There was only one character I liked and I have no clue how their story ended. It was just a bit over my head, I kept saying, what's happening? ...more

Dark and dreamlike. I can see why not everyone would like this. It's a mix of a fairytale with horror, and the promising plot definitely got weird. I thought it was quite literary, though, and enjoyed the read.
