So happy to have had a rainy summer morning and a comfy couch and a book that wouldn't let go of me, even when the tears were rolling down my cheeks and into my ears.

Fun, very fun. This is like reading The Night Circus but for younger audience- with the same fantastic setting, incredible characters and sweet story line. I love how Beasley portrayed the circus not like something that is only magical, but realistic as well. And sometimes miracle can come in different kind of shapes.
Pure. Magic.
Micah's beloved grandfather is dying. So Micah is determined to reach "the Lightbender," a mystical, magical man that his grandfather met at Circus Mirandus when he was a boy. Micah is also struggling to get along with his great aunt, who will become his guardian if his grandfather dies. Lovely language, likeable characters, and the theme of having faith. This book is on several Mock Newbery lists. I think it could be a contender.

3.5 stars for this magical account of a circus that comes to life, and changes lives when you believe in it. It is very similar to "The Night Circus" yet written to a younger audience.

Mock Newbery August read.
This just was too much like The Night Circus the Jr. Version for me. I wanted to feel closer to the 2 main characters but didn't, because they didn't feel real to me. Okay but not amazing.
