I liked this book, in fact I got hooked at so many parts. As I am a slow reader and me having finished this book in a couple of days should tell ya something. The book is mainly an exploration novel of another land during the earth year of 2850. The exploration of the Ringwold is magnificent and is detailed crisply into my imagination.

A decent, solid hard sci-fi book. Occasionally the science was a bit over my head (pictures would have helped), but then again I'm not used to thinking of a ring-shaped world, so maybe I can be excused for missing some of the more nuanced descriptions :)
The book is worth reading, and I will be interested to pick up the next one in the series. I could see this, like Dune starting to drag a bit after a few volumes, but at least there's a lot of material to work with, given the size of the Ringworl ...more

I can see now why one of our friends has been telling Elengil and I that we should read the Ringworld books for as long as he has.
This is such a fantastic, humerous sci-fi book. This audio version was wonderfully narrated as well.

I listened to the audio version of this. I wasn't that crazy about it. I'm not really sure why. I don't think I was paying enough attention while listening because I found myself wondering what was going on a lot.

I wanted to re-read this because I knew it was something that I should like but for whatever reason, I didn't care for it the first time. Much more enjoyable this time. I am now a fan.
