I love Jack Vance. This book is so original and weird and funny and thought provoking and creative I don't have enough words to describe it all. I'm not even sure who I would recommend it to. I'd say fans of old school sci-fi or fantasy. But I could easily see it rubbing people the wrong way. The first time I tried to read it, it rubbed me the wrong way. This is the only audiobook I have ever returned of my 200+ Audible library. The portrayal and treatment of women was so off-putting I could not continue. I have been fine with plenty of dated, male dominated sci-fi books but this one was relentless.
