This book took my by surprise! I didn't expect to love it so much! The Wedding People is all about the characters and every character felt fleshed out.
Phoebe's life hit the rock bottom and she decided to end it all. So she books the her stay at the Cornwall Inn (her "happy place") and plans to take her pills. But she is the only guest at Cornwall Inn who is not attending the wedding and then she meets the bride.
It's story full of emotions and I'm so glad it ended the way it did. (view spoiler) ...more

This book was really kind of a hype last year. Maybe that is why I expected too much of it?
I did find it an overall easy and entertaining novel and would recommend it to people who are looking for an easy beach read. It is fluently written and has a good pace.
On the minus side, the characters are strange and hardly feel like real people. I had the impression the characters were there to amuse us, to be funny without anything more. But that didn't work well with the serious issues the book trie ...more

I know people love this book, but it’s so damn self indulgent with shit character development. No one is likable, and it’s like the author came up with these verbal sparring matches between them and that should signify that they had connection but there was no connection… it was surface only and so so flat. I’m rating this book as vastly overrated.
