This is one of those fun books that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s my brand of weird and well worth the read.
Evie takes a job as a personal assistant to the local villain, and the start is pretty funny as it establishes everything and how ‘evil’ he is. It does tone down as the story progresses and have less joviality, but the impression is definitely made. It’s basically an alternate fairytale and pokes fun at the usual tropes. I'm apparently having a very mid day with my book ratings.
In all honesty this wasn't on my radar to pick up. I've seen it floating around but it didn't really spark my interest I'm less inclined with these sort of books to read a series where it's the same hero and heroine each book, I prefer my series to be different couples each time. I don't know why I personally do so I thought this was like that but clearly not from the big cliffhanger.

This was such a surprising read. I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. We all love a hot and brooding Villain but WE ALSO LOVE A CUTE VILLAIN !!!!!
Ohmygod this book was one of my fun reads recently. It’s now one of my fav fantasy books (back in my fantasy era after ages), it was funny , witty , the characters were well written especially Evie and The Villain. The side characters also had me rooting for them.
The slow burn was so slowwwww that it was a torture. A GOOD ONE THOUGH
It’s not the best book out there but definitely one of my favs ❤️
