For a short novella, this took me a while to finish. I don't really understand where it ended up going. I was good til about 70% in, then it lost me. I think I'll do better if I read the physical copy. Considering how much I absolutely LOVED If We Were Villains, I would really like to give this one another shot. ...more

2.5 stars? Very confused. This felt mostly like a prologue, except then like someone said oh you were supposed to be doing the whole story, so the rest got crammed into 110 pages…I think I could’ve really enjoyed this if it was double the length. At this short a length it felt like to many stories were started and then either wrapped up to quickly or not at all.

The atmosphere was good, and the full cast audio was good.

This felt like reading the middle 100 pages of a longer book rather than a whole little story in itself. Having 5 main characters in such a short book also meant that there was very little room for character development and story arcs so I felt like I hardly got to know anyone before the end.

For me, it was just okay.
