What was I thinking?! Definitely a 5 star read!

January 2017 4.5 stars. This was really very good and surprised me a few times- in a good way!- I enjoyed the author's take on a post-mortality world and the world setting was interesting. Recommended.

This is the first book in a long time that I was eager to devour. Scythe is a beautiful reminder of why I love to read.

In a time when people have conquered everything they can, even death, it becomes the job of some individuals to kill, or glean people as they refer to it, to make sure they are not overpopulated. Citra and Rowan are now on a journey to becoming a feared Scythe.

Shusterman created this world that can easily suck you in as you learn about just how different everything else. No on

”Forget what you think you know about scythes. Leave behind your preconceived notions. Your education begins today.”

4 stars. I’m so glad that this is a completed series and I don’t have to wait for any books to be released because I plan on jumping into the sequel immediately. I really, really enjoyed this book. It was my first book by Shusterman and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I love his writing style and I found this to be such an addicting and fascinating read.

4,5*

Jenže i cech Smrtek

A unique idea!
I really enjoyed this book. Rowan and Citra were interesting and played off each other well. The entire premise of the dystopia was really cool. If there was no more war or disease, the population would grow immensely and you need some way of curbing it. The journal entries between each chapter were nice, letting us get some perspective from older Scythes and their philosophies. Rowan was my favorite character. I like that even though he got the worse end of the deal, he still kept

Reread and it's even better than I remembered! I now own the whole trilogy and wanted to remind myself of the beginning.

This book deserves an extra star, making it 5 stars (probably 4.5) which I rarely give out.

Shusterman has created a fascinating version of the future - one of those 'is it utopia or dystopia?' type worlds, but that is to damn it with faint praise. It's completely insane - and also scarily not - to think of a time where humanity has the authority over who dies. And it doesn't ta

I adored this book!

Admittedly, it took a while for me to get into, but once I did, I was enamoured by the worldbuilding, the characters, the writing style. I enjoyed the debates of what makes a person human and all those grey morality questions that make the world so much more interesting.

There's going to be more in this series and I want it so badly !!!

10/10. Go and read it please!!
