What Members Thought

Dr. Andy
This book really made me think, about death, immortality and everything associated with that. It was really crazy to think of a future where humans were in charge of determining who died. It's also a scary thought when I think of how easily that system could be corrupted.

Shusterman has created such a fascinating world with flawed characters that felt so real. I loved listening to this, it pulled me in and I couldn't put it down. The ending to this book was pretty awesome and I was honestly surp

”Forget what you think you know about scythes. Leave behind your preconceived notions. Your education begins today.”

4 stars. I’m so glad that this is a completed series and I don’t have to wait for any books to be released because I plan on jumping into the sequel immediately. I really, really enjoyed this book. It was my first book by Shusterman and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I love his writing style and I found this to be such an addicting and fascinating read.

I loved the dual POV, it was totally amazing, and the lack of romance really lent itself to the story. I feel like even the second book there won't be too much of it, what with (view spoiler) but the hints of it will still be there. I can't wait to see what'll come of it.
I loved all of the Scythes in this book. I love the way Curie and Faraday dealt with the gleanings, it really made me appreciate them. And the whole statistics behind the w

4,5*

Jenže i cech Smrtek

Reread and it's even better than I remembered! I now own the whole trilogy and wanted to remind myself of the beginning.

This book deserves an extra star, making it 5 stars (probably 4.5) which I rarely give out.

Shusterman has created a fascinating version of the future - one of those 'is it utopia or dystopia?' type worlds, but that is to damn it with faint praise. It's completely insane - and also scarily not - to think of a time where humanity has the authority over who dies. And it doesn't ta
