I read this one originally nearly a year ago, so I decided to re-read it prior to reading book 2 and I'm glad I did. I had forgotten just about everything except the gist of it. lol
I loved both the male and female MC's: Roman Kitt and Iris Winnow. They both have a love of words, writing, and journalism. Forrest, Iris's brother, is on the frontlines of the war fighting on the Gods' side, so she writes him letters but he doesn't receive them. Instead, Roman gets them and he writes her back. Such a good audiobook! Love the writing and the old time feel with the gods and candles and type writers. Iris is a great FMC and I really enjoyed getting to know her. Of course I swooned over Roman, how could you not? The ending was a great set up for the second book! Hopefully I can get my hands on it quickly 😊

Beautiful!! I was so lost in this book, I would forget I was reading. I LOVED the characters, and their relationship. They were witty, flirty and so sweet towards one another that made me feel their love. ALSO-There was NEVER a dull moment. I found myself thinking about how I never wanted to skip ahead bc I was bored. Seriously, this book! LOVE!!!!
