Violet Sorrengail & Xaden Riorson

There are so many things going on in this book that it's hard to put into words without giving anything away. What I will see is that Violet continues to grow. It was definitely to her benefit that she had been trained to a scribe before becoming a rider. It is also to her benefit that she is an adept student, and she is a survivor. She is going to fight hard for what she believes in and for the people she cares about.

I read this book a little over a year ago, but reread as I wanted to refresh and immerse myself in this world again. I picked up on some things this go around that are making me question things.

It was also more enjoyable reading it this time. I think because I remembered most of the big things that happened, I was able to appreciate the pace of the book more.
