I'm so happy I finally dove into this book! Agh this was so good! I'm glad it didn't disappoint even though I had high expectations after seeing so many positive reviews. In it, you follow Yadriel as he's trying to find happiness even though his family doesn't yet accept him as a Brujo. To prove himself, he'll go on a path that will collide with the spirit of Julia

Buddy read with Lyra!
This book was absolutely incredible. The plot was great and the main characters were so lovable!

4 stars.
It was surprisingly light, and if I had known that before going in, I might have liked it better. As is, I expected some bigger feelings, and was a little disappointed. Still a really good story, a beautiful look at mexican mythology, and an uplifting #OwnVoices story about being transgender.
