Multiple people have been trying to convince me to read this since publication. It's a lot better than I expected. Gothic murder mystery using belladonna while the love interest is Death himself. The premise is right up my alley. I just found it good. Not excellent but decent. The chemistry was there. Very slow burn. Historical but feminist forward. Twists are a bit clear ahead. I really enjoyed the ride. Signa was a great MC and, let's be honest, Death as a love interest? Pure bliss.

Supernatural Murder Mystery
A supernatural murder mystery, set in the 1800s, with the MC being a girl who cannot die, who has interactions with death himself. Overall, the book was enjoyable. I felt like the love aspect of the book came out of nowhere, and didn't flow nicely into the story. And it did get a little slow at times. However, it had a nice murder mystery theme, with some pretty expected twists. I'm interested in reading the second book, but I feel like it's just going to be another ch ...more

This...was...amazing. Oh my goodness, it took me a bit, but this was exactly the kind of story I love. Fantasy, historical, romantic, and all-encompassed in this delightful gothic atmosphere with an air of mystery.
