The romance in this (if I can even call it that) was insufferable. I found the love triangle so unnecessary and Avery SO ANNOYING because all she thinks about are the boys. I get she was attention deprived before and now has very hot guys around giving her undivided attention but seriously? :/ It otherwise makes a great, fast-paced mystery. the clues itself were very interesting and you’re on your toes till the end. Wow what a book! Avery and the boys are such fun; not overly described but substantive enough to connect.
The puzzles in this book are fun. They aren’t obvious, especially with having the grandfather’s take on a lot of it. Yet its still fun to play along and see where it goes.
I really enjoyed the ending and can’t wait for the next one!

Definitely can draw the similaritites between this book and Knives Out. All puzzles that the author weave thoughout the plot made this a very fun read.
That being said, all the twists and mysteries are not something ground-breaking. So if you go in expeceting some Sherlock Holmes level mystery, you'll be disappointed. ...more

This book had my interest from start to finish. The characters were engaging, the mystery and puzzles were well-crafted, and the cliff-hanger ending makes me want to read the next one immediately!
