I was a little late to the party on this one but I found this to be a lot of fun to read. I am a sucker for mythological retellings and Greek mythology holds a very special place in my heart. Plus this has been hyped up beyond all recognition, so thank gods it was good!
By now, everyone knows the story of Hades and Persephone. But Smythe takes what we all know and pulls it into a more modern era - a very Hollywood feel. Persephone remains the naïve, sheltered girl we all know her to be. While Had ...more

I'm not quite sure what to think about this one. Obviously, my rating indicates that I enjoyed it, but I just feel ambivalent to some degree. The art style is cute (though occasionally it doesn't quite feel the same and I don't like the alterations as much) and I enjoy the premise, but Persephone's (Kore's) character is a bit too immature on occasions and rubs me the wrong way.
However, I did find myself totally sucked into the plot. I think this is going to end up being a guilty pleasure series ...more

I'm so glad I restarted reading this book. When I started it over a year ago I was a little confused but I was sitting in an ER in a lot of pain so not a lot of this book stuck in my head. I'm happy to say I was able to finish it and I feel like I understood so much more then I did the first time I read it.
I love the story of Hades and Persephone but I've only read retellings and I've loved them all. I hope in Vol. 2 I'll get to know more about the other Gods so I don't get them all confused so ...more

Lore Olympus Vol 1 Review on K-Books
I have seen Lore Olympus mentioned over and over online for a couple of years now but I had never taken the plunge and read it. With it being a WebToon I was never really interested. I don’t enjoy reading on my phone or kindle so it was a no from me as that is how I would have had to read it. Fast forward a few years and I saw it was releasing as a physical book and I thought this was the perfect time for me to see what the fuss is all about and read it.

Very sweet retelling. Love the illustration style!
Very nice to have these bind ups rather than reading online, as well.
Deals with some heavy topics in a realistic way, I thought. Well done. Still lighthearted with lots of mutual lining, which I love.
Will be reading all of them as they’re released as bind ups.
