The main thing I struggled with in this book was that I thought it was marketed as a vampire horror but instead it was a historical book loosely based on real events with only a touch of horror. This is almost all talking with very little action and the murders are just recounted and not live. I found myself bored and dying for something, anything exciting to happen.

This book was... weird. It read a little like true crime, a little like horror, a little like YA and a little like a paranormal thriller. I was entertained throughout, even if it was heavy to get through at times, and Michael was a little generic. Marie was interesting, and the story and crime was fascinating. It bothers me a little that we never get any REAL answers.
