What Members Thought
Even before I read the acknowledgments at the end of the book, I realised from the writing that this was a deeply personal account from the author. The characters in the story are adorable- not just Hugo but Mei, NElson and Apollo. In fact, the character I liked least was Wallace! The book revolves around the premise that once we die, we move on and between the two is a time to evaluate. This is an endearing and thoughtful book with a big Heart. Many thanks to Netgalley for an arc of this book.

I absolutely loved this book! It was humorous yet it dealt with tragedy in a way that meant something to the reader. I liked both of the MC's a lot and I thought the characterization and character development was particularly well-done. Wallace undergoes some real changes as the plot thickens, which I enjoyed watching come to fruition. I also am one who really enjoys a romance that builds more slowly rather than sex/lustful thoughts the minute they lay eyes on each other. I thought Klune did a f

Another amazing book by Klune! I swear he can do no wrong and I would read anything he writes. Then you throw in the the audiobook is narrated by the fantastic Kurt Graves and I am immediately hooked. More of this duo please!
This is a slow burn story for sure, so be ready for it. Wallace isn't a great person at the beginning. He's incredibly self centered, with no friends or family to care about. When he dies, he wants to complain and treats Hugo and the others poorly. The longer he stays at the ...more

This was soooo good!! I loved the characters, the plot, the narration, everything! I could listen to it again. Especially the Desdemona scene. I laughed so hard.
The story was so well crafted. It didn’t come out too preachy or deep, just the right balance. I enjoyed how it made me think but also gave a great plot to follow through. So if you aren’t into thinking about the reason for life or what happens after death, there’s still solid story to enjoy.

I have very conflicted feelings about this book. On the one hand, I loved a lot about it, it had very charming characters in a very charming setting. The world that it builds and the system around how reapers reap souls and how they pass on was extremely interesting. I loved the found family thing that they were building at the tea house and I liked the problem that came up with the husks and how you can deal with them. I thought Wallace was an extremely interesting main character, especially fo

Wow! This book will give you all the feels. Wallace is a complete jerk in the beginning and then we find him 3 days later at his own funeral in spirit form. Really slow burn romance between Wallace and Hugo. Wallace challenges and questions what he is being told and it leads to some really wonderful things. After all what is the meaning of life and what is the legacy you will leave behind? There was some good humor in this while some serious issues were examined, there was a great blend of the t
