This was a very slow paced for me. I tried to be patient with Bree knowing the main issue or at least what she thought was her main issue. It was hard though. From the on-set and nearly every turn of the page for half the book she was annoying asf! But I went on because of the magic aspect in this book. I wanted to know more about the Order and Rootcraft.

Once the story of rootcrafting and her ancestors came into play the story pick up a bit both in pace and interest. I didn’t see the end, the t ...more

This lived up to the hype for me. I flew through this for it being 500 pages and I was so interested in the secret society aspect of things. And I love so many of the characters who are part of that too.
Occasionally the characters annoyed me with some stupid choices, but that’s expected. I loved Nick so much he’s so sweet and is so good with Bree but it does seem like the nice guys who start out never end up being the ones chosen, so I suspect a love triangle in the next book unfortunately.

What an amazing book! Never in my life would I have ever guessed the boogeyman in this story. The FMC is so tough and but just as sweet and loving. I can’t wait to read the second book. AND I DON’T READ FANTASY!
