This book was absolutely beautiful. The author did an amazing job of creating a book that is accurate with the history it is writing about and adding a twist of fantasy. I really liked the main character and she was so relatable. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to be just as good as the men, but not be allowed because of your gender. This was beautiful and haunting. The world that was brought to life by Marie Lu was creative and whimsical, but also dark and mysterious. Absolutely beautiful.
This novel had me getting emotional just telling my husband about it. Poor Nannerl spends so much of her life fearing that she will be forgotten and most of history seems to have forgotten her.
