This is a book that when you finish reading, you're like... you know what. Let's read it again. I DO NOT WANT IT TO END. And when I think about giving this book 5 stars, and then look at my other books I've given 5 stars. NO. This book gets 6... 7....8 .... 10 STARS. It's THE book.

I'm kina broken rn. So don't judge my god awful review XD

Overall: I was really let down with this one :( I was so hyped to read it because SoC was soooo good. This wasn't even in the same league. For every plan that failed, four more popped up in it's place, and when those failed even more plans were made. So yeah, it was hella confusing most of the time. Like oh, we're spreading black dead flesh everywhere? That's nice. I really had no clue what was going on most of the time.

I love these characters, and the plot of this entire series has just been incredible and twisted and pure sleight of hand in narrative form. It’s sheer brilliance, and the fact that one person came up with all of it in their mind is boggling. Prepare for total domination, because fantasy heists should be on everybody’s radar. True rating: 4.5, I'm torn between giving this book a 4 or 5. For now I rounded it down, might bump it up to a 5 after all in the end since I did enjoy the end so much. But like the first book, the start was pretty slow paced and it did continue a little throughout the book, which also made me sometimes put it away.

This is the second book in the Six of Crows duology, part of the Grishaverse.
Oh boy, the ending, amazing.
The writing is on par with the writing of the first book in the duology, pretty much the same level. Of course as good. The pace is again slow though, only at the end it truly picks up, throughout the book you do have moments the pace is a little quicker, but for the majority of the book it is pretty slow paced. It's a necessary kind of slow pace though. I personally am not too great when there's often a slow pace cause I tend to put the book down somewhere in the middle of the slow pace.
The story itself though, oh yes yes yes, I love the scheming and the little twists and the little hidden things and etc. And oh gosh the characters aaah, I love them all so much. There's again quite a lot of development happening with each character.
Yes yes yes I do recommend this book ! Pick up the first one and then pick this one up. ...more

This was a good read in the end.

I started trying to remember the characters from the first book, so that took a little longer than I would have liked but it was ok in the end. I read my review for the other book and it gave me a change to figure out who was who.

I am...destroyed. I don't even have words. So much happened. So much action. So many sweet moments in conjunction with some equally heartbreaking moments. I would say that the last 100 to 200 pages felt somewhat rushed and was learning towards 4.5/5 stars, but then I felt like the ending and the way the author ended everyone's story but still left it open for more in the future made up for some of it. Also, certain spoilery decisions the author made that at first, I felt came out of nowhere but ...more
