True rating: 4.5, I'm torn between giving this book a 4 or 5. For now I rounded it down, might bump it up to a 5 after all in the end since I did enjoy the end so much. But like the first book, the start was pretty slow paced and it did continue a little throughout the book, which also made me sometimes put it away.

This is the second book in the Six of Crows duology, part of the Grishaverse.
Oh boy, the ending, amazing.
The writing is on par with the writing of the first book in the duology, pretty much the same level. Of course as good. The pace is again slow though, only at the end it truly picks up, throughout the book you do have moments the pace is a little quicker, but for the majority of the book it is pretty slow paced. It's a necessary kind of slow pace though. I personally am not too great when there's often a slow pace cause I tend to put the book down somewhere in the middle of the slow pace.
The story itself though, oh yes yes yes, I love the scheming and the little twists and the little hidden things and etc. And oh gosh the characters aaah, I love them all so much. There's again quite a lot of development happening with each character.
Yes yes yes I do recommend this book ! Pick up the first one and then pick this one up. ...more

It’s been a long time since a series entered my heart the way this duology has, I think it even trumped The Folk of Air. Besides being well written, Leigh Bardugo creates plots within plots almost impossible to foresee, and my heart pounded with adrenaline within the first pages.
I laughed, cried and screamed my way through this book. I was shocked, satisfied and heartbroken. These characters will stay with me forever, and I will never get over the ending.

After reading Six of Crows I wasn't entirely sure what to expect with the second book in the duology. I loved Six of Crows, but I often found it rather slow paced and felt it spent too much time on world building.

THIS book though, was absolutely incredible. Fast paced and beautifully written. From the very beginning it was an intense and crazy ride that I had no hope of jumping off even if I wanted to. The character development was incredible, and the small tidbits into each of the "Six ...more

This was a good read in the end.

I started trying to remember the characters from the first book, so that took a little longer than I would have liked but it was ok in the end. I read my review for the other book and it gave me a change to figure out who was who.

I was excited to read this one since I loved the first one. My only regret is that I didn't read it sooner.

The Story: I don't do spoilers, but the story is absolutely amazing. It continues from where the first one left off and it resolves all of the main issues that the characters had to deal with. The writing is amazing when it comes to the interactions between the characters, the dialogue, and the more intense scenes. Plus, the way that the story is told is so clever.
