Without having read it, I’ve been quite snooty and I suppose disparaging about what I thought this series would be like. Well I was pleasantly surprised by my enjoyment of the first book. This book has raised the status of this series in my mind. The magic and world building really developed and Celeana was shown to have more depth of character. I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes

"Ashryver Eyes
The fairest eyes, from legends old
Of brightest blue, ringed with gold.

My heart couldn't handle this book a second time around. I did not remember as much of this one as I did the first one. I forgot about the little things that broke my heart. Nehemia hurts just as bad as the first read. The ending still slaps though. So bad ass.

I'm beginning to really get into this series. I like Celaena, how strong, smart, and cunning she is. Chaol and Dorian are great, though I'm team Chaol for sure ;) I like the parts about magic and few and I hope we see more of that in the future! (view spoiler) That ending! Now I definitely have to rea ...more

Second read, second review: yea it was great. I think knowing what was up messed with the suspense but I still loved the characters, the plot and the set up for the next book.

2020 review:
This is the second book in the series and it does not disappoint. Celaena is the King’s champion and is out doing her assassin thing. She’s got Dorian and Chaol for all the romantics out there. Nehemia is another bad ass female character.

There’s intrigue and death and riddles and suspense and some lovey dovey

This continuation of Throne of Glass does an excellent job of revealing more about each of the main characters while furthering their story.

There are honestly no words to describe this book, I stayed up until 2 am just so I could finish it.

The beginning was slow going and it seemed to be more about the political agendas of the ruling family. But as you get into the heart of the story it picks up and Maas completely blows you away.
