Ok, so I definitely thought Carry On would be an H/D fan fic in most ways, and I was super excited about that, but it managed to stand on its own and surprise me in so many ways. If you've read Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl, you'll know Carry On is based on the Simon Snow novels that Cath writes fan fic about. As a lovely, swoony, boys kissing book this fires on all cylinders. As a fantasy adventure, it's a bit too sitting-on-the-bed-remembering-the-action-instead-of-having-action, but that's acceptable for what it is. My one actual complaint is the fact that it seems like Ms Rowell did a google search for BRITISH THINGS and then tried to include every single one of them. It started to get distracting after a while.

Amusing, absolutely NOT Harry Potter (AHEM) story of Chosen One Simon Snow and the wacky shenanigans he and his friends get up to at their British wizarding school.
Not my favorite Rainbow Rowell. there were parts I wish she spent more time on, but I did really like it!
