It's a little short. But this book sets the series into its own story. I'd been thinking it was a bit unoriginal, and shockingly like Star Wars. Darth Vader=Valentine, Jace=Leia, Clary=Luke, Simon=Han Solo. I don't know, it seems so.
Anyway I can see the story growing into it's own shoes. Showing the more individual aspects of the world it's staged in as we learn more about Shadowhunters, and their past. ...more

A great book! It impressed me even more than the first book of the trilogy. In this book Clary gets to discover a lot more about her past and who her family and she really is.
Way better than City of Bones, but is the nonstop bloodbath REALLY NECESSARY!? I mean, you can't go a chapter without someone getting "pulverized!"
