Gabe Maddox married Skylar James eight years ago and he hasn't seen her since. She's now been abducted and LCR is engaged to rescue her and Gabe's point man for the operation.
We finally get the story behind Gabe's marriage, which slowly unfolds throughout most of the book. I enjoyed the flashback device used to relate the details, sometimes from each of their points of view. The kidnappers are heinous and, as is typical of this series, the experiences are really tough, gritty and frightening. I ...more

8 years ago, Gabe Maddox and Skylar (Skye) James met while on vacation, fell in love quickly and married. Gabe was still young and recovering from time spent in jail. Skylar was taking a break from her fame and fortune. Then one lie tore two lives apart. Now, Gabe works for Last Chance Rescue, knowing that Skylar is out there living the high life, while Skylar believes her husband to be dead, unbeknownst to Gabe himself. This huge misunderstanding trope was well used though I hated Skye's dad fo
