Hmm. This was written in 1973 or so. I've been meaning to read her stuff for ages - but it seemed a little hard to come by. Never saw her novels at library or used stores. Was somewhat suprised to hear that LeGuin died yesterday (the day i finished her book). She was 88, not really a surprise. I read a review that described her as "the anti-Ayn Rand" which was amusing, and at least for this book very apt. No doubt that LeGuin was very much anti-capitalist and anti-consumerist. Well, half of this book is really amazing. The chapters set on Annares are thrilling, entertaining and informative, the rest is dare I say it rather boring.
