It took a little while for me to get into this book, but once I got past the first 20 pages or so, I really liked it. I'm a big fan of "The Walking Dead" graphic novels & TV series and the movie "The Book of Eli" so this post-apocalyptic book fit right in with that. I believe that if this type of catastrophic event ever became a reality, this book is the closest fit to what it might be like. I nearly gave this book 3 stars - it was hard for me to get into at first. I wasn’t crazy about the structure (no chapters, no quote marks) but about a quarter of the way in it made so much sense why. This is not a happy, feel good book. It’s terrible and hopeful even when it seems like it shouldn’t be. A bit repetitive at times but overall I really enjoyed it.
