Con ellas vivimos años importantes en la historia de Corea y a través de sus ojos atestiguamos injusticias y crímenes, así como el amor de su familia y los lazos que unen a las buceadoras hanenyeo.

Lisa See is one of the best authors and one of my favorites. There is not a single book of hers that I don’t enjoy or learn fascinating things from - and this book is no exception. I love that her focus is on Asian culture - the history of which I’m not that familiar with.

This book is extra special as I will be traveling to Jeju island in April and can’t wait to see the island of the sea women!

This was a mesmerizing story about the strength of women, love, friendship, heartache, loss, and survival. I don’t know why there isn’t more talk about this book. Definitely worth the read. (The audio book is fantastic.)

I learned so much about the Haenyeo women that live on the island of Jeju in South Korea. (The women dive to earn money and the men stay at home with the children and cook.) This story spans across a lifetime with many tragedies.
