Decided to go back to the classics and read Dracula during October 2019. Dracula wasn’t what I expected. I thought it was a traditional narrative but it’s actual told through mostly diary/journal entries from the main characters. If you have ever watched a Dracula movie you’re more than aware of the basic plot line. What surprised me is how the film versions have altered what really happens in the book. Read this when I was 12 in my vampire phase and loved it. Can remember laying on my bed and reading late into the night giving myself goosebumps.
Picked it back up when I found Audible had done a full cast with Simon Vance and Alan Cumming. Just as spine tingling.
Though the inanity of the women characters grates on me more now that I am older. I have to remember when it was written since the prose stills seems amazingly fresh.

I really wasn't enjoying this book, so finally (after the count had made it to Britain) abandoned it.
