I wish I had reviewed this book before I read Mockinjay. but that's how fast I tore through these second books. I read this in less than 24 hours, which has become rare for me. and I HAD to run to the library for Mockingjay before I'd even finished this one. it was that compelling. Tragic and dark and tense, like the first one. Still with Peeta and Gale and Katniss and Haymitch and the usual. I liked this - I didn't love it, though.
There was just too much love story in it for me, especially in the beginning. Does she love Peeta? Does she love Gale? Does she love Peeta? Does she love Gale? I just didn't really care about that much.
Things got interesting with the Quarter Quell, though. And, I enjoyed the addition of some new competitors (especially Finnick).

I couldn't wait to get to this 2nd book in the trilogy and it definitely did not disappoint! I couldn't put it down!

Interesting on reread. I liked listening to this on Audiobook, though sometimes the POV sentences got to me. Still a brilliant but dark plot. I always loved knowing the after.
