Very readable classic! It reminded me of The Count of Monte Cristo -- the main character is in disguise a lot and seems to be able to easily wiggle out of every scrape he's in -- but unlike Monte Cristo, this one's not a brick. ;-) I thought the writing was great and the characters memorable.

Edited: just re-read for book club, and I feel exactly the same about it. I did love rereading it, because I was looking forward to the great ending!
I loved this book, which is almost mainly about a woman falling in love with her husband after many misunderstandings. I am giving it one less star, because I think the ending was a little abrupt. This was a somewhat predictable adventure/romance. I wasn't overwhelmed with it, but it was a quick, entertaining read.
