What Members Thought
I don't remember who recommended this series to me, but I'm grateful. Murder on St. Mark's Place is set in NYC at the end of 1800s. In addition to the good mystery, it is interesting to see how difficult life was for the poor or middle class. Women didn't have any options except find a husband.
The main characters Sarah Brandt and Detective Malloy are captivating. There isn't a romance but a growing respect between two very different people.
I'm looking forward to reading more in this series. ...more
