I thought this book hung together better than the others, there was more of a plot. The plot was 'time passes', but that's valid. I think I liked 1919 best.
The ending is depressing.
I can see why Dos Passos is the great writer no one reads any more. He did use a lot of new techniques and wrote about the 'seamy underbelly' including unmarried sex and abortions. However I don't think it aged well. ...more
