What a dreadful read. I understand that it really pushed boundaries when it was first published. It's written well, the characters are memorable, and the moral of the story has aged well. If not for these things I wouldn't give it any stars at all. It was so wordy. Not to mention how annoying the Victorian culture was - romanticizing suicide, obsessing over "beauty," the misogyny, the endless melodrama (someone please recommend a good therapist to Dorian)... it was so over the top.
